As #water continues to gain prominence in the sustainability agenda, we have been introduced to new concepts and terms. While some may seem intuitive, others require time to fully grasp. For me, one such concept was “catalytic communities”, which I first heard from Will Sarni. Initially, I struggled to fully understand it, and it took me a while to realize why Will emphasized it so often and its profound importance. Eventually, the idea clicked, and I felt compelled to share my interpretation in this article, published thanks to the support of IndustriAmbiente, a key partner in our industry.
A catalytic community does more than simply add results—it multiplies them by integrating diverse efforts that amplify each other’s impact. This concept thrives on strategic collaboration among various stakeholders—companies, governments, communities, and organizations—who, by working together, maximize their contributions to address complex challenges such as water management, emissions reduction, and #environmental regeneration.
This approach transcends mere accumulation of individual efforts; catalytic communities create transformative synergies, redefining how we manage our resources and promote #sustainability. At a time when water is taking center stage on the global agenda, understanding and applying these strategies is more critical than ever to tackle global challenges with meaningful solutions.
I hope you enjoy this article, which highlights how water is not only interconnected with all the Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs) but also plays a pivotal role in a greenfield project like CRAMSA , located in the driest place on Earth.
